Eversource customers without power can report outages by phone by calling 1-800-592-2000 or online at the Eversource website.
Eversource also provides notifications and outage alerts to customers by mobile phone. Register for outage reporting and status updates via text by by sending “REG” to 23129.
National Grid customers can report outages or downed wires by calling 1-800-867-5222. You can also report outages online or via National Grid’s mobile app, available from the iTunes and GooglePlay stores. If you have life-sustaining equipment in your home, call 1-800-642-4272.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A municipal building in Virginia Beach, Va., was turned into a scene of carnage on Friday afternoon after a longtime public utilities employee began firing indiscriminately at his co-workers with a handgun, the authorities said, killing a dozen people and injuring several others before dying after an extended shootout with the police. It had been nearing closing time in an office offering some of the most mundane functions of city government, such as paying water bills and applying for building permits, when the employee began stalking through several floors firing at his colleagues, the authorities said.
