England made it six successive one-day international series wins against the Kiwis.
Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid shared six wickets as the hosts were restricted to 223 all out after being put in to bat.
Bairstow replied with a mammoth 104 from just 58 balls, making it the third fastest century by any English batsman.
The opener went on the score 155 and hit the winning runs with a huge six.
The main source of support came from Alex Hales who knocked 61 as England stormed to victory.

"It's different from batting in the middle order but my job now is to score big hundreds and contribute match-winning scores," said man-of-the-match Bairstow.
"That's what I'm trying to do but it's still a work in progress."
